RETRACTION OF PAST POST...Jennifer Aniston's Property DID NOT BELONG to Maybelline founder Tom Lyle Williams

I received this email recently and want to retract my post describing Jennifer Aniston's property in Bel Air California as once belonging to my great uncle, Tom Lyle Williams, founder of the Maybelline Company.  The information came to me from good people with bad information and since I haven't been to Bel Air and driven by my great uncles property in many years, I took the information as truth.  Please pardon my mistake. Tom Lyle Williams property was at 900 Airole Way and Jennifer Aniston's estate is at 901 Airole Way........ Sharrie Williams

Good morning Ms. Williams,
I am the owner of 900 Airole Way in Bel-Air having purchased the home in 2005 from Lindsay Buckingham who had owned the property since 1980. I read, with some amusement, on your website, The Maybelline Story, that your great-uncle's, Tom Lyle, former home at 900 Airole Way, which he owned from 1950 to 1976, currently belonged to the actress Jennifer Aniston. Please let me correct you: Jennifer Aniston purchased 901 Airole Way from Robert Maguire in February 2011. The property at 901 Airole is not the same as the property at 900 Airole Way. Having apparently spent time at 900 Airole Way during your childhood, I'm surprised you would make this mistake.

The 3 acre Estate at 900 Airole Way, in Bel Air California, was owned by my great uncle Tom Lyle Williams, founder of the Maybelline Company, between 1950 until his death in 1976.  He built it after losing the Villa Valentino to the Hollywood Freeway in Eminant Domain.

The property was sold after his death to Polish Film Director, Roman Polanski,

then to Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, who remodeled  and sold it in 2005 to the people who own it  today.

When the Hollywood Freeway took Tom Lyle Williams, beloved Villa Valentino, in the Hollywood Hills, he bought this private estate,  (second to top of the hill in Bel Air,) in 1950.  His friend, Arnold Anderson's brother was the Architect who built this ultra modern steel and glass home with sweeping 180 degree views of Los Angeles. The view was even more spectacular at night with all the twinkling lights of the city.
