In 1991 Maybelline adopted its current advertising slogan, "Maybe She's Born With It. Maybe It's Maybelline" tagline. The company was acquired by L'Oréal in 1996. 

Christy Turlington first exploded onto the scene in the early 1990's as an internationally recognized model gracing the covers of top magazines and runways around the world and as the face for Maybelline.
