Maybelline founder Tom Lyle Williams and his partner Emery Shaver, together for 50 years.

Part of the Tom Lyle Williams and Emery Shaver family, having lunch at  Damon's Steak House in Glendale California, before visiting Forest Lawn, and the tomb of
 their great uncles.

Anxious to see uncle Lyle and uncle Emery's, final resting place, our two families hurried to their Mausoleum.

I was mesmerized at the size of Elizabeth Taylor's monument, by far the largest of anyone at Forest Lawn.

Tom Lyle Williams and his lifetime partner, Emery Shaver, are entombed together in a crypt, in this beautiful Sanctuary.

Unable to be open with their relationship while alive,
Tom Lyle and Emery are together eternally, in death.

Ann Williams Corbett, Sharrie Williams, Donna Williams and  Floyd Shaver-Welles, honoring their great uncle's by placing two white roses on their crypt.  We believe our great uncle's, were instrumental in bringing our two families together 40 years after their deaths.

Ann Louise Williams-Corbett, placed 5 roses on the
Shaver crypt, while their family beheld the sacred act.

We were all struck by this touching inscription: "O For One Hour Of Youthful Joy!  Give Back My Seventh Spring!  I'd Rather Laugh A Bright Haired Boy, Than Reign, A Gray - Beard King."

The Williams and Shaver-Welles Family at Tam O' Shanter Restaurant in Los Angeles, celebrating Floyd Shaver-Welles Birthday... After a day of visiting our families at Forest Lawn Cemetery. We sincerely believe the Joy in our Spirit brought our loved one's Spirit's, back to life that night.

In honor of Tom Lyle and Emery, we, as their families, now consider ourselves one family and officially cousins.

Thank you Jeff for making this memorable day possible.

Ziegfield, 1920s nudes, considered fine art today..

While some deem Maybelline, "The Provence of Whores,"  Erte' and Ziegfeld make it mainstream.

Erte' Queen of the night.

Ziegfeld Follies, Chorus girls.

Maybelline, during the early 1920's, received bad press,  primarily because it was worn by ladies of the night. However, when the Gibson Girl, transformed into the Ziegfeld Girl, Maybelline took off.

Paulette Goddard,

Paulette Goddard's, stage debut was in the Ziegfeld revue, No Foolin in 1926. She was the first actress given a Technicolor screen test.  She also did several color, full page, Maybelline ads in the 1930s and 1940s.

During the 1920s, Tom Lyle began using Hollywood actresses to endorse Maybelline.  It was a brilliant marketing decision, and skyrocketed Maybelline mascara, out of back alleys and into every girls purse.

Bill Williams memory lives on through his Clenet Automobile.

Alain Clenet, refers to his American, coach-made, Clenet, as Driving Art.

Alain Clenet was recognized for his contribution to Santa Barbara history, at the Concours d'Elegance.

Tom Pierpoint, President of The Clenet Cluster, with Alain Clenet.
These wonderful, limited edition automobiles were built in the late 70's and early 80's by Clenet Coachworks of Santa Barbara, CA. There has been a recent strong interest in these vehicles most probably due to the fact that they are becoming "classic neo-classics" as they all approach 30 years of age. We are probably a bit biased, but we think they are the most elegant automobiles ever produced.

The William P. Williams family, showed Bill's Classic Clenet, Series 1, number 13 at the Santa Barbara Concours, Oct 30th, as well as The La Quinta Concours d'Elegance, this year, where it won 2 place in the Neo-Classic, category.

Clénet is an automobile series with old retro styling, mixed with modern technology.  Each limited-production model was conceived, designed, and produced by a small team of men and women in Santa Barbara County, California in the 1970s and 1980s. The automobile's distinctive styling was based on the high-end automobiles of the 1930s. Despite their retro looks, Clénets used modern drive trains and suspension systems.
