This is an interesting story, much more about the family than the Maybelline business. But there are some interesting characters in the family. There was also some good material on how the company was started.

To think a young man of 19 started Maybelline! The history, the family, the way the company stayed family owned for so many years and the way Maybelline adapted and grew into what it is today is fantastic. All beginning with one very young mans dream, and desire to always take care of his family. No matter what.

Excellent book about a very young entrepreneur and his vision. His employees would consist of his family. What's great about the book is that you step into each person's life. The Depression, Wars, family joy and sorrow saw them through and added to Tom Lyles success.

Didn't know the story behind Maybelline. The book kept me
interested until the very end. It was emotional.
I was surprised that the family did not treat Sharrie's mother very well . She suffered from
mental illness, very sad that the author didn't even invite her mother to her wedding.
Sharrie's grandmother treated her mother horribly, but yet she was greatly admired by the
family.
I enjoyed learning about the history of make up industry. Didn't realize that Hollywood
promoted make-up until then the 1930's most women did not wear makeup, and if you wore
make up you were considered a harlot.
I have always like the waterproof mascara by Maybelline it stays on better than the
more expensive make up.

This book is so compulsively readable I kept going until I fell asleep and my Kindle hit my face. I love true family
dynasty stories because they contain more mystery and twists and turns than fiction books. This one is probably
my favorite one. There were a actually heroes to cheer for and bad guys to worry about. You will not go wrong in
selecting this book. RECOMMENDED!

I REALLY enjoyed this book. We are all familiar with Maybelline and it's wonderful products. It was fascinating to
read about how the company was founded and the people involved in it. The story was developed really well and
the characters were also developed well. I really recommend this book. It is a fascinating read.
People who bought the Maybelline Story bought these titles as well.
